ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kingtide Ink Charlie Piper

Charlie Piper returned to West Seattle after earning a degree in Studio Art from the University of Vermont. His artwork highlights both realistic natural elements and imaginative design. Some of his recent professional work includes poster design for Vermont-based apparel company Arsenic Anywhere, large-scale murals in the heart of Burlington, VT, and a wide variety of custom commissions. While working as a freelance artist and designer in Vermont, he began to dive into the art of tattooing and became fascinated with translating his fine-lined drawings onto skin. Upon moving from Vermont to West Seattle, Charlie became involved in the ceramic community as an instructor and technical assistant at Rain City Clay. In March 2023, he decided to pursue his passion for the art of tattooing and began the process of opening his own private tattoo studio— Kingtide Ink.

AFTERCARE

DAY ONE

- Your tattoo will be wrapped in Saniderm when you leave the shop. You will want to leave the wrap overnight.

- When you remove the wrap, be sure to first wash your hands with an antibacterial fragrance-free liquid soap (such as Dial). Next, using your fingertips, clean your tattoo with the antibacterial soap and warm water. Gently pat it dry with a clean towel.

- When it is dry, apply a THIN layer of Aquaphor or A&D to the tattoo. Reapply as needed.

THE NEXT 2 WEEKS

- Continue to clean your tattoo with the antibacterial soap and apply a THIN layer of the ointment to your tattoo 2-3 times per day.

- Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight.

- Do NOT scratch or pick at your tattoo. It will itch during the healing process and you will likely see dark flakes peel off as it heals. This is completely normal.

- Do NOT swim, go in a hot tub, or take a bath.

AND ON...

- As your tattoo heals, it is expected for it to lose some of its initial vibrancy. In order to avoid excessive fading, be diligent with applying sunscreen for the lifetime of your tattoo.

- With extremely fine-line tattoos, it is possible that some touch-ups may be needed in certain areas once the healing process is complete. Touch-ups are always free, just shoot us an email at info@kingtideink.com to schedule a time to come in.
